I was wondering where this story had got to. I was cleaning out some magazines and found it! Here's David Alhadeff from Williamsburg's The Future Perfect. Read more.
Phone interviews are always hard and I didn't enjoy Bret Easton Ellis' latest book Imperial Bedrooms (violent scenes, horrible characters). So I didn't think this interview would be easy. But Bret was incredibly charming, as you'd expect. You can read the interview here.
I'm typing this on a hot August night but right now it's winter in the southern hemisphere. This Style Glossy interview with designer Bri Cheeseman of amazing Sydney label Secret Squirrel is meant for antipodean readers. Gather round for Bri's winter style tips. Read here.
Last night I went to see Sally Seltmann play at Union Hall, Brooklyn. My friend E described Sally's performance as magical. I’m just so proud when an Australian girl travels around the world with her husband and child, on her creative smarts. Here’s my interview with Sally for The Inside Source.
This was my first trend piece for eBay's blog The Inside Source. It's about rope. I'm really happy with how it turned out. You can get more than enough rope here.
I was going through an old issue of Bambini magazine and came across my Tessa Kiros story. I've had Tessa's cookbook, Apples For Jam, for a number of years now and I still cook from it quite a bit. Her book really is a landmark in the rustic-hipster-mom genre. Go Tessa!
I just finished Malcolm Gladwell’s Outliers. It’s my favorite of his books so far. I interviewed him when Blink came out. We met at a SoHo bookstore. He was tiny in person, incredibly polite and intuitive. Just as you imagine really. Read on.
I interviewed mom-of-six Laura Bennett for eBay's The Inside Source. She had fabulous eBay picks and her book, Didn't I Feed You Yesterday? is a wonderful read about life in a two-bedroom Manhattan loft with her husband, half dozen children, various goldfish, a cage of finches, a hamster, a turtle and a rabbit. You can read my story here.
